About Hope

About Hope Community Church

 ...GROWING
We believe the primary way God establishes His rule in the lives of His people is through the preaching, teaching, and application of truth.  Consequently, we are committed to the faithful exposition of Scripture.

We believe the maturing Christian is one who is discovering who Christ is, becoming like Him, and making Him known to others.

Ephesians 4:15

...CONNECTING
We believe the Church is the center of God’s plan for the world today.  He gave Himself so that we could be saved and become a part of a new community; the body of Christ.  We believe the New Testament speaks of Christian life in the context of this covenant community.  Consequently, our intention is to assimilate each person into the covenant life of our church.

Ephesians 4:16

 ...SERVING
Within:  We believe every Christian has something to offer.  The Holy Spirit has endows every member with special gifts in order to serve the body.  Our motto is: “Everyone a minister”.

Without:  We believe we have the responsibility to give back to our community.  We will seek ways to make our community a better place to live.  We believe we are mandated to reach our lost and dying culture.  Consequently, we will invest our time and resources in community and global missions.

Ephesians 4:11-12 / Matthew 28:18-20

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Hope Community Church.  We realize that the process of finding a church home can be a bit stressful.  Our prayer is that God will lead you in your search.  Whether you have already visited with us or are considering doing so, we hope the information on our website will be helpful.

It’s not difficult to see the enormous growth in Desoto County.  The future looks promising as home sales indicate that more and more families are choosing to call this area home.  Some estimates reveal that as many as 80 – 90% of households in our county do not attend church on a regular basis.  The harvest is plentiful!  So, Hope Community Church was founded in May 2005 in order to glorify God by fulfilling the dual purpose of the Church;
• To disciple God’s people
• To reach the lost

To accomplish this mission we focus on three things:  Growing…Connecting…Serving.

Whatever we do, we seek to do all things with excellence.  We are intent on helping everyone in our family become fully devoted followers of Christ.

On our web-site you will find a list of our seven core values and our doctrinal statement.  You’ll also see some of the people who make up our family, our worship time, and a map to our location.  If you have other questions, drop me an e-mail or call me at 901.831.4466.

Blessings,
Richard Hall

Our Worship

At Hope you’ll experience celebrative worship with a blend of contemporary and traditional songs led by talented musicians and vocalists who have a passion to lead God’s people in worship.

“Our songs are a mixture of contemporary and traditional (that we kick up a notch).  We are not perfect, but we really love what we do, and why we do it.  We are not a choir church, but we also aren’t a rock concert.”

-Jeff, band member

What we believe…
▪ The divine creation of man and the universe…“ex nihilo”
▪ The verbal, plenary inspiration of the Word of God and its consequent absolute authority
▪ One God, existing and manifesting Himself in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
▪ The virgin birth of Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of Man,and His pre-existence as God, the Son
▪ The historical fall of man, his moral depravity, and his need of regeneration
▪ The atoning work of Jesus Christ as the only ground of justifying sinners
▪ The personality of the divine Holy Spirit, who is the seal and witness of salvation, taking up residence in the believer
▪ Justification by faith alone
▪ The eternal punishment of all who reject the Lord Jesus Christ
▪ The resurrection of the body, both of the just and the unjust
▪ The personal, physical return of our Lord Jesus, establishing His kingdom, the “new heaven and earth,” wherein He will reign forever

Passionately committed to Jesus Christ
The mature Christian is one who has become a fully devoted
follower of Christ and is in the process of knowing Christ, becoming
like Christ, and reproducing Christ in others.

Biblically measured
Our rule of life is the Word of God. We believe that the primary way
God establishes His rule in the lives of His people is through the
preaching and teaching of Truth...both knowledge and application.

Morally pure
We are committed to holy living; an increasing love of the things
God loves...an increasing hate of the things God hates.

Family centered
We desire to strengthen the family.

Financially generous
We are committed to wholistic stewardship...a willingness to give
sacrificially for the advancement of the Kingdom.

Evangelistically bold
We are committed to reaching an unchurched world through lifestyle
evangelism.

Socially responsible
Because we live and work in a particular community, we believe we
have a responsibility to give of ourselves so that the lives of others
may be enriched.
